Description:

Returned to my local patch armed with some close-focus rings where I managed to snatch a better shot of a Caddisfly larva protruding from the front of its case. The green background of underwater vegetation really helps show it up.

You would imagine that as

You would imagine that as distinctive a caddis as this would be easy to name to species but alas no, there are a suite of species of the genus Limnephilus,that have such larvae.
