Description:

Less than one inch in length and obviously dead. Main feature was the depth of blue / violet on its front abdomen.
What are the white egg-like dots?

The white dots are mites.

The white dots are mites. These are commonly found on Dor Beetles which gives the beetle it's other common name of 'lousy watchman.'
