Description:

A single specimen growing in cow-grazed grassland. Beautiful cellular structure with white ridges. About 3 inches high so I suppose that if the birds don't get it, it may grow larger. I've never seen one before but apparently they are uncommon and appear at this time of year.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Many thanks for the revision

I was lulled into complacency by the Collins entry. I've just looked up Jordan and it seems much more likely. I went back to look at it again today and, as I expected, the birds had destroyed it. Ah well.
