Observed: 1st April 2011 By: George WGeorge W’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

This is one of a number of different fungi I spotted. Can anyone identify?

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

They look a bit like a very

They look a bit like a very young coprinus which have been got by some local wildlife. How big were they?

Coprinus -

is a good suggestion. If it were later in the year, I'd suggest the "egg" precursors of stinkhorn fungi. But they tend to appear singly, and it is, I think, too early.

Have suggested common inkcap

Have suggested common inkcap for a couple of these observations. would be much better to wait to get them a bit more developed, any chance you could go back and take some more photos now as there will probably be some others more fully developed.
