The plant in the photo looks too hairy for dock, I wonder if it could be Comfrey, which is one of their more frequent foodplants? But they will feed on a range of things in some places. In my area they are on Green Alkanet.

Scarlet Tiger moth

We were very certain at the time that it was dock... Comfrey does grow in the same area but we are sure it was not that. Will check when next there.
