Your picture appeared at first sight to show legs, which a chiton doesn't have (as it's a mollusc, like a slug or snail) - although the picture of the chiton that's currently showing above does look quite similar (and I didn't know before that chitons can roll up, which is fascinating).
Not sure whether sea slaters can roll up or not, but they do look just like giant woodlice (well, the one we saw on Jersey was huge - enough to put one of our party off going in the sea!)
It might be worth taking a plastic ruler out to photograph next to the beasties, as it helps a lot to know what size they are? I've really enjoyed seeing them all - I live in the midlands, so don't often get to the sea. Thanks for sharing them (even the yukky ones).
