Capsella rubella

Observed: 28th March 2011 By: Tim RichPlants expert

Capsella rubella is supposed to be a diploid version of the (usually) tetraploid C. bursa-pastoris with red buds, often red-tipped petals about as long as sepals, and fruits with rounded lobes rather than triangular. I've never found the characters correlate very well - plants on Lizard Green have been recorded for many years as rubella and are about as good as they get.
