Description:

A bright yellow lichen growing on an old hydrant marker on the side of the path.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Xanthoria

The greeny yellow lichen with fairly broad lobes and orange jam tart fruits looks like Xanthoria parietina. The deep orange may be surrounded but I think it could be a different species.
