Fruticose Lichen

Observed: 17th November 2009 By: pjt347

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

  • Fruticose Lichen
Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.

There are at least three

There are at least three different foliose lichens in the photo, but can't say for certain which species as the flash has blown out much of the detail.

The very small, slightly tufty one that could be mistaken for fruticose is a Physcia.
The brownish lobes are probably a Melanelixia (used to be Melanelia).
The larger foliose lichen could be a Parmelia but can't be certain.
