Description:

This was taken a while before I became REALLY interested in birds but I remember checking it out when I got home and deciding it was a Black Redstart. Thought it would be interesting to see what others thought recognising that the photo isn't particularly helpful!

I agree

Hi I think you are right it is a black redstart. I have spent some time in the Czech republic where they are very common in towns and villages, so am quite familiar with these guys. they are really great birds and in spring and summer their song can be heard almost every where all the time. they stay long into the autumn to they were still singing from TV aerials at the end of October. Its such a shame they are not more common in the UK.
