found on a dead tree on the woodland floor, the black is 'ooze' which looks like it has come from the fungus!

might be schizopora paradoxa but I struggle with these brackets and resupinate fungi so it could easily be something completely different.
Well, when I compare it to S.paradoxa it does look like a good match, so I suppose my next question(s) are:
Does the fungus create the 'ooze'?
Is the 'ooze' a different fungus in its own right?
Does S.paradoxa use the 'ooze' as a source of nutrient?
A revisit is required methinks!
