Caucasian Fir/Douglas Fir

I think this id is quite difficult as the growth of these species can vary depending on the location. Both emit strong odours when the foliage is crushed. According to Alan Mitchell(Conifers in the British Isles)A.nordmanniana leaves emit faint aromas
of fruity, resinous sorts sometimes like petrol.Pseudotsuga menziesii has a strong, sweet fruity aroma. The cones will distinguish
easily as Abies have upright, erect cones whereas Pseudotsuga cones hang down!
