Strange brownish bubbles with a central hole
Greyish felty interiors

These strange brownish bubbles were in groups in rough grass near an old flint wall. They are about 2.5cm across and when the tops were accidentally knocked off some they had a funnel-shaped, grey felty interior.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Cedar cup

Yes, there is a large cedar directly overhead and looking at images on Google they look identical. We saw some several years ago on the other side of the tree but never found any more until today - though they are not very conspicuous.
