Galerina

Phillips cites 3 species that are found either on pine or on moss...

This is one of the problems.

This is one of the problems. Phillips is a great book but it lists 5 Galerina one of which is now a Kuehneromyces and Jordan list 6. Unfortunately there are almost 60 species recorded in the UK so to try and identify from one of these books is a bit difficult.

narrow down

I think it is enough for it to be narrowed down to it being a Galerina species,as I will now recognise them in future even if it cannot be the exact type.It is all about learning even though it seem's to be a very complex subject and Your right there are so many book's.
