Description:

Found 4 brown caterpillars in amongst rubbish collected for the compost and saved them.They are not on the leaves they came with. I get lots of these every year.Any idea what moth they are? I have kept them in a pot to raise now so would like to know what to feed them

update

Only one of the 4 caterpillars is left.However this one has grown rather large as you can see in the photos added at the bottom. The caterpillar will pretty much only eat Greater Knapweed leaves
