Description:

A ferret I stopped to pick up off a busy road after passing it twice over the last couple of days. At 60 mph I thought it might be a polecat, on closer inspection its not! Note large bib and long white guard hairs.

Pine Marten???

Could this be a Pine Marten? Colouring looks like one?

Pine Maten???

It is superficially similar; but the ears are too small, legs too short, tail too short and is generally too bulky to be a pine marten. It was also found a long way from any suitable pine marten habitat. Something that cant be conveyed with pictures is the intense ferretty smell!
