Jelly Fungus?

Observed: 8th January 2011 By: grant burleighgrant burleigh’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

I first thought this was the Jelly Ear fungus (Auricularia auricula-judae) but its outline seems rather too regular for that. Velvet shank (Flammulina velutipes) has also occurred to me but with no great confidence. I should be grateful if the ID could be clarified.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
