The rock this limpet was on was at mean high tide level and over a metre long. The limpet must have made a round trip of over 3 metres each high tide to make these feeding marks. As the rock could only have been submerged for an hour or so the limpet must have moved at around 5cm a minute. Not bad for an animal with just one foot!
