Banana Bug. DSCF1676

First apeared as a group of eggs on a Banana plant in the garden. hatched out as brown beetles which grew to about 8mm long & lightened in colour & turned bright green. This took about 2 weeks. They stayed together as a group. I saw no evidence of feeding, they perhaps fed on the banana sap , but no damage was noted to the plant. After about 3 weeks they dissapeared.
