Striking purple bracket fungus growing on dead tree trunk along with what I think is Flammulina velutipes in the prairie dog enclosure.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I have uploaded a bigger

I have uploaded a bigger photo although I am not sure what use it will be as it is not the best - unfortunately I forgot my camera and had to use my partner's inferior one. It did seem bracket-like but maybe was an old and dried out example.

Could be right

We will never know, and I don't think it's worth nipping over the fence for another shot.
