Description:

This was a very large duck [between the size of a Mallard and Canada Goose] had several markings akin to the Mallard but a white and brown speckled chest - initial reaction it is a cross breed of some sort.

There are lots of these -

"manky" or "plastic" mallards - crosses with domestic ducks or other closely-related species.

Many thanks - this large bird did look odd amidst the smaller pure Mallards
