That's a new name? Where does it come from?
I have just revised. I am sure it was just a mistake. My google search take me back to i Spot website only...there is no other Satin....so it must be a mistake. Surprisingly we had some aggrements so worth waiting for further confirmation as I such I don't know that much about birds. Thanks for spotting it.
The scientific name (which is all the really counts) was quite correct so I was very happy to agree with the suggested ID on that basis.
Just wondering what list of vernacular names 'satin' comes from as it is not one I have encountered before.
opps yeah that was a mistake, it was meant to be Long-tailed Tit. I guess I slipped on the naming section
I hoped this was a name I hadn't come across. Lots of the tit family seem to have names familiar in certain areas and unheard of elsewhere!
