Description:

beetle larva in very well rotted softwood, probably pinus sylvestris although could have been Tseuga. 'medium sized' i.e. not very large like stag beetle nor very small. 1.5-2cm long

Longhorn beetle?

Looks like a longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae) larva to me, but don't know which species, there are several that will go into conifers.
