i do not think that this is a chafer-it has a different coloured wing case
The dark thorax is right for Melolontha, but in other respects I can see what rimo means by looking more like Amphimallon.

I'd say the former of the two, but could it be a Welsh Chafer (Hoplia philanthus)?
The Garden and Welsh Chafers were the other ones I was thinking about, especially given how hairless this one is. I eventually went for Amphimallon mainly because of the paleness of the elytra and the foreleg sculpting
