What a great photograph
Thank you David for your comment
these tiny, agile, shy birds are very difficult to catch on camera!
Where abouts in barnsley did you take the photo? ive seen a lot of wrens on the walk between silkstone and cawthorne! along with long tailed tits and redwings
Hi B15DVE, i took the photo at Oldmoor RSPB reserve near Broomhill. Just at the side of the visitors centre, at the bird feeding station. The lakes are still 90% frozen but theres still loads of teal, wigeon and a few redshanks and a dunlin to see.
Ah yes, ive been to old moor a couple of times, i usually go upto the one at fairburn aswell. there is a nice lake (well 3 actually) at wintersett with some bird hides, and a lovely walk through haw park wood (ancient woodland) if you are passing by that way, is worth a visit, abit more scenic than broomhill! Thats where i get most of my photographs from.
Cheers Dave, Iv heard of Fairburn Ings but never been. Im allways coming up to Oldmoor for a visit so a few extra miles further up doesnt matter. Its now on my list to visit. Thank you. Andy
