Description:

Foliose lichen on Common Oak in hedgerow between farmer's field and Sutton Manor Park (ex-colliery site).

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

  • Hypogymnia physodes or Hypotrachyna revolta
    Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.

Thanks gardener and other in agreement.

It does look like the other observations for Parmelia sp., however, it also looks like Hypogymnia physodes or Hypotrachyna revolta. I came to the ID using the Bayesian Key on this site. I reckon more info is needed to make a more accurate ID. I'll review it over the year.
