Growing on a dead hazel trunk at the edge of woodland. It appears to be growing on another chesnut coloured fungi which I cannot identify.
Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!
Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Would you say it's one of the trickier ones to identify? (Sorry - I couldn't resist it).
I think this group are far too globular and uniform for Dacrymyces stillatus which tends to be more lumpy.
