Description:

These two photos were taken on the same day in August of last year (2009). First photo shows harlequin laying eggs on underside of branch on sycamore tree: this was a slowish business with eggs added one by one to several rows over maybe an hour or so. Second photo shows adult emerging from pupal case on stem of same tree, its wing cases still slightly soft and pale yellow in colour with no spots (as noted in previous post)
