The picture is terrible, and may well make identification impossible, but it's the only snapshot I managed to get of this bird.

Look out for these in spring when they pass through in breeding colours. You should also see the very handsome northern race then, with much more black on the face and breast than our breeding Goldies - more like gold-coloured Grey Plovers.
All Goldies have a beautiful piping call all year, but the breeding calls and song are particularly fine.
