Revision: thought there was turkeytail here -

(a.k.a. Many-Zoned Polypore, Tramates versicolor). but it looked as if it were being overgrown by another fungus.
The illustration of Bjerkandra in my book is not very like this photo, but reading up on it, a white margin is sometimes found in young specimens: this darkens with age.
So the revision above could well be correct.
