It's a damselfly larva of some sort - not sure which though. Looks as though it's nearly fully grown from the ize of the wing cases

I am sure that this is the larva of a Large Red Damselfly.
If it had emerged from the water by itself before the photo was taken this may support the ID (Large Red is the earliest to emerge in the UK), but perhaps this one has been fished out?
