Time stamp for comments.

I have been wondering for some time now why there is no "time stamp" on comments that are posted in the same way that there is for identification revisions.

I believe that the reason for preventing identifications from being edited is to show how an identification has been arrived at. If this is the case then the comments should also have time of posting shown because ID's are often revised as a result of discussion in the comments (at present only the date is shown for comments).
Since comments can be edited at any time the original time of posting should be shown, and, if they are edited the time of the last edit should probably also be shown (this is similar to what is seen in other online forums).
