Mystery fungi

the size and shape of a turnip(8cm across)but fungal and found in a cluster buried under decaying leaves. shown split open in photo
Outer tough and quite hard, inner pure white and marshmallow-like texture, now dried out. "Stalk" of fungal hyphae.
never seen anything like it!


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
