Found on conifer that has blown over,growing in moss covered soil still attached to base of tree.

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
No interactions present.
Omphaliaster asterosporus as it now is should have decurrent gills rather than these which are adnext/adnate and they should be more widely spaced than this. Unless you have looked at the large spines on the spores I don't think it is the suggested species.
Unfortunately I don't know what it might be.
